Feudalist Party 2012

December 8, 2009

It’s time for feudalism, United States’ style – feudalism based on intellectual prowess and gumption. The weak shall continue to get roofs and bread, the lazy will die in the streets, and the few shall emerge as a beautiful plutocracy basked in solipsism. I honestly don’t think it will be too tough of a sell. Sure, the US is way more upwardly mobile than we get credit for, but I’m tired of fighting stereotypes. Let go and embrace nepotism, caste, and the privilege of birth. Make me a lord and I will share some crumbs of the spoils. You get security, I get liberty, security, and plenty. It’s win-win. Abandon fear. Abandon hope. Accept known quantities.

Vote Feudalist Party in 2012 – free food, free cable television, free high speed internet, free health care, and favelas! It’s going to be great!

    Gumption, yes. Intellect, no.

I’m the most intelligent man in my neighborhood by at least a standard deviation, but I have no business being the the lord here. Trusted lieutenant, maybe.

Are you saying David Brooks, Thomas Friedman, et al are wrong about the need for leadership by enlightened elites? For shame, Swineherd. I know from your blog that you believe in backwards notions like honor and family, but I had no idea that you were only clinging to your guns and religion out of bitterness and fear. You should really smoke more hopium.

It’s true. I’m afraid of the awesomeness of my intellect. It’s so lonely up here.
